What worked well

NH Collection Venezia Murano Villa is a nice hotel in a converted old glass factory, and it feels distinct from a more standard Venice stay right away. The grounds are attractive, breakfast was good, and the staff stood out throughout the trip. They gave us strong restaurant recommendations, helped with logistics, and made the stay feel polished without being overly formal.

Booking and arrival

We booked three nights through Amex Travel via The Hotel Collection and paid cash. We had two rooms, so the $100 credit per room was a worthwhile perk. The hotel also arranged a private boat transfer from the airport on arrival and another private boat transfer to the main train station when we left, which made the luggage-heavy parts of the trip much easier.

Location tradeoffs

The hotel is close to the water taxi and the area around it is very quiet, which can be a real plus after full days in Venice. There was also a very convenient restaurant next door. The downside is that staying on Murano added noticeable travel time whenever we wanted to go into Venice. We had to make several water taxi stops most times we headed in, so each outing felt longer than it would have from a base directly in Venice proper.

Bottom line

We liked the hotel itself and would describe it as a strong, comfortable Murano base with excellent service and easy transfer coordination. The main question is not the hotel quality, but whether you want the calmer Murano setting enough to accept the extra transit time every day.
