Andaz London Hotel Review
A candid review of Andaz London Liverpool Street, including the strong connecting-room setup, the awkward holiday-week location, and why we ultimately left three nights early despite helpful staff.

Booking and room setup
We booked one room on points and the second room on the 50 percent cash rate, which gave us great connecting rooms. The rooms themselves were large and worked well from a space perspective, which is not always easy to find in London.
Location and why it did not work for us
The hotel is right by Liverpool Street Station, which is convenient on paper, but the area felt wrong for this trip. That was magnified by the fact that we were there over Christmas and Boxing Day, when the surrounding business district felt completely dead. My wife especially hated the area, and it never felt like a comfortable family base.
It is also farther from central London than we wanted for this kind of stay. The hotel makes more sense for individuals or couples than for a family trying to enjoy the city with kids.
Why we left early
The biggest issue was that the service staff left dirty laundry outside our room every day, which created a hallway smell that could not really be masked. It kept happening, and eventually it became enough of a problem that we left three nights early.
To the hotel's credit, they refunded the unused portion of the stay, and the staff also went above and beyond in another important way: they held on to some high-value items we accidentally left behind and I was able to retrieve them later. That would have been a painful loss otherwise.
We did not dine on property, and overall I would not recommend this hotel for families despite the room size. There are some positives here, but they were outweighed by the location and the cleanliness issue.
