Why this trip was different
This trip was really built around a birthday celebration at The French Laundry, so the whole point was to keep the stay tight, polished, and focused on one major meal rather than trying to turn it into a packed Napa itinerary.
Where we stayed
We stayed at the North Block Hotel in Yountville and it was absolutely perfect for this kind of trip. The room felt new and very nice, and the bathroom had heated floors and a giant tub, which made the stay feel even more celebratory.
For a short Yountville weekend, it is hard to imagine a better fit. The hotel matched the tone of the trip without feeling stuffy.
The French Laundry
Dinner was amazing, and the service was the biggest reason why. The food was great, but what made the night feel truly memorable was how polished and warm the whole experience was from start to finish.
We also got a kitchen tour afterward, which made the evening feel even more special. For a celebration meal, we would highly recommend it.
